It is now that time of year where I am busy brain storming about my new new year's resolution. Save up to get a car in 3 years time? Get a GPA of 3.9? So many goals I need to achieve in 2009! But all these serious thinking is not stopping me from joining this year's mega event that no one can miss- 2009 COUNTDOWN PARTY!



Without fail, every year I will join in the fun with my best pals at countdown parties, ending my year with a BLAST. Last year, I headed down to Sentosa's hippest beach for the dance party of the year in my favourite bikini with non stop music, foam party and many great food. But it was too crazy for me.



This year, I am not going to stay home and watch boring television shows, but try something simple. Head down together with me to The Float@ Marina Bay for Singapore Countdown on 31 Dec 2008 night at 10.30pm for show, party, fireworks display and most importantly, the COUNTDOWN to 2009!

Let us bring you to the past : Christmas 2007





Beautiful sight isn't it? Just a year ago, streets and malls were dotted with decorations of musical instruments such as violins and trumpets as well as sparkling blue lights made up of musical notes. To get everyone into the spirit, there were also events such as festive performances, entertainment events, shopping specials, concerts and dance parties. Christmas last year was definitely a fantastic one and this time round, it certainly will be as memorable, if not better!

Lined up this December, we have Christmas in the Tropics 2008 and this year's theme: A Sweet Christmas. From Orchard Road to Marina Bay, a total of 5km, fairy lights can be spotted everywhere! Decorati0ns have been put up since 15 December and already, many have flocked down to catch a glimpse of the spectacular light ups. Catch it before it will be gone on 2 January!

"WOW" is the only word that can describe how beautiful these lights and ornaments are paired up. Besides all these, we have even better news for all festive lovers. Other than the light ups, there will be other interesting highlights along Orchard Road.

Singapore River Regatta 2008 is here again! Of course its here again!
It's Singapore's highly anticipated annual event on the waters of Singapore is here again and our dragon boaters are all geared up and pumped to participate. Come along down to the Singapore River to experience the hustle and bustle of this sports event.


Date : 22nd Nov 2008 [Saturday] , 23rd Nov 2008 [Sunday]



I remember, last year, watching along the river side as the dragon boaters in each team, sent by institutions and private clubs and companies, work together in team unity and see which team emerge as the winner first hand.

It was a crazy and exciting moment as you will get to experience the drama on waters, seeing how the different teams try to outdo, outrun and out-row each other! Furthermore, you can also share the glory of the winning team, and join in the cheering as the crowd yell and scream in joy whilst supporting for their team.



Come along and see the competition first hand! Watch how our dragon boaters perform on water, after a year's hard work and training. See how these beautifully crafted dragon boats glide along the water of Singapore River and enjoy the hyped atmosphere of the event.

Feel free too, to join in the shouts and screams and yells of the crowd present as they show their love and support for the boat they are supporting! Last year, everyone was singing along to a same tune while the boats and boaters were being prepared and i remember cheering along with them as the race begin.

Feel the adrenaline rushing through your veins as with the close competition. I remember gawking at those muscles of the boaters and wonder just how long have these people been training for?

Do you know that the boats all cost up to tens of thousands of dollars. And Nopes! They are certainly not all made of wood, but of white fibreglass, reason being it will be lighter and put them at an advantageous position!




So, what are you waiting for now?
Hop on down to the Singapore River and put on your sweat shirts and expect a hot day under the warm lovely Singapore sun. Be advised to slap on some sun block and put on a pair of shades when under sun!
