Singapore River Regatta 2008 is here again! Of course its here again!
It's Singapore's highly anticipated annual event on the waters of Singapore is here again and our dragon boaters are all geared up and pumped to participate. Come along down to the Singapore River to experience the hustle and bustle of this sports event.Date : 22nd Nov 2008 [Saturday] , 23rd Nov 2008 [Sunday]
I remember, last year, watching along the river side as the dragon boaters in each team, sent by institutions and private clubs and companies, work together in team unity and see which team emerge as the winner first hand.
It was a crazy and exciting moment as you will get to experience the drama on waters, seeing how the different teams try to outdo, outrun and out-row each other! Furthermore, you can also share the glory of the winning team, and join in the cheering as the crowd yell and scream in joy whilst supporting for their team.
Come along and see the competition first hand! Watch how our dragon boaters perform on water, after a year's hard work and training. See how these beautifully crafted dragon boats glide along the water of Singapore River and enjoy the hyped atmosphere of the event.
Feel free too, to join in the shouts and screams and yells of the crowd present as they show their love and support for the boat they are supporting! Last year, everyone was singing along to a same tune while the boats and boaters were being prepared and i remember cheering along with them as the race begin.
Feel the adrenaline rushing through your veins as with the close competition. I remember gawking at those muscles of the boaters and wonder just how long have these people been training for?
Do you know that the boats all cost up to tens of thousands of dollars. And Nopes! They are certainly not all made of wood, but of white fibreglass, reason being it will be lighter and put them at an advantageous position!
